I can't help you with paint colours, I did mine with the recommended Tamiya mixes (Xf range) and then faded and shaded till it looked good to my eye. After this it was time to start slinging colors! I'm planing to build the F4U-1 as VF-17 and Tamiya says i have to use AS-8, AS-19 and AS-20 .
